Stolen Away (Demon!Romano x Angel!Reader) Part 1

Giddy with excitement, you were already on your feet. Your glorious wings with a hint of silver lining spread to their full length. The release of tension made a blissful sigh leave your lips. It felt good to actually be able to use the wings you were given. Sure, you were sent to Earth on some missions, but that rarely happened. That was generally left to the higher ups. You had a good status, but sometimes you were reckless. Irresponsible, if you will.

Adrenaline rushed through your veins as you finally took off with your fellow angels. Freedom from your perch made you pump your wings faster. You wanted to be the first to touch Earth. The first to interact with the humans. Maybe even the first to see a demon. Truth be told, you had never seen an actual demon. You had been told stories of course, but whether or not they were true was a mystery to you. 

Still filled to the brim with curiosity, you couldn't keep the grin from spreading across your lips once your foot first touched the ground. Without waiting for further instructions, you took off at a sprint in hopes of finding some humans and perhaps a demon. The pounding of your footsteps echoed in your chest. It almost matched the beating of your heart. Every other beat was one more step you would take. 

If only you were more cautious. Perhaps you wouldn't have tripped over a rock. One moment you were enjoying the feeling of the wind in your hair and the next you were hitting the ground with your hands and knees. Pain shot through you like needles as you managed to get into a sitting position. You examined your palms first, grimacing at the torn up flesh, before glancing at your equally torn up knees. "Dang.... Maybe I should slow down.... Naw. If I slow down, I won't be the first to see a human or a demon!" You mumbled to yourself as you slowly stood. 

"That looked like a nasty fall, ragazza." A velvety voice sounded throughout the quiet clearing you had fallen in. Your head snapped up in attention. Where had that voice come from? The quality of the voice was smooth and comforting. Who could it possibly be? "Oh! Did I frighten you, bella? My apologies then." There was the voice again, but this time it was closer. You stood prepared to fight rather than flee like your angel companions.

Light footsteps reached your ears and you quickly spun around to face the direction they were coming from; behind you. There stood a rather dashing man. Shaggy brown hair fell into his green eyes as he stared at you and one curious curl stuck out from his head. You stared for a moment before realizing that what you were doing was rude. Snapping back to attention, you smiled sheepishly at the man. "Ah... I'm sorry for staring and I suppose it was a bad fall, but I'm okay now. Thanks!" You responded turning that sheepish smile into a large grin. Let's just say, you were brimming with confidence that this man was a human or demon, but you couldn't tell.

The man's eyes squinted at something behind you before a devious smile graced his lips. What was he up to? You stared at him curiously; not at all worried for your own safety. You were angelic. He couldn't hurt you. "Mi dispiace. Such a pretty face. I really hate that you're an angel." He purred letting his leathery wings stretch to their full length. The deep red color of his wings could almost be black. The tips practically touched the edge of the clearing. His wingspan had to be at least five feet; maybe six. Cream colored horns rose from his hair. How could demons hide themselves so well? You could barely keep your wings transparent.

With a gasp, you realized that's what he had been squinting at. When you had fallen, you're guard was down and your wings were just a glimmer. His acute eyes, though, had allowed him to see the faint outline. Today was Halloween. He couldn't hurt you. With this new thought in mind, your confidence grew back. He wasn't allowed by law to harm you. "Go find some human girl to fool around with!" You spat wanting to leave the forest, but you weren't about to turn your back to this guy. Even you weren't that irresponsible.

"Oh? Interesting. An angel's actual got some fighting spirit. Since it's Halloween and all, I believe we're supposed to mingle. My name is Lovino Vargas. Just call me Vargas, though. I expect an idiota such as yourself to be able to do as much." He teased that devious smile never faltering. Honestly, it was starting to creep you out and.... lure you to him. No! What are you thinking? He's a demon! It's all an act! You reminded yourself furiously, trying not to let it show in your expression, but by the amused glint in his eyes, you could tell you were failing miserably.

With a sigh, you decided to return his introductions, "I'm (fullname). It's.... nice to meet you, Lovino." You included his first name just to be smug, but you hadn't expected a look of anger to cross over his features. It actually sent a wave of fear throughout your body. Maybe you shouldn't have gone there. Next time you would follow his instructions to call him Vargas. As long as you didn't have to see that look ever again. A smirk took over that angry expression as he let out a low chuckle.

"I'm going to have fun with you, (fullname)."
